DLL kept popping up in the debug log (Clib.dll). I ran the IIS debug tool while looking through the MS knowledge base. Could this be the reason why I can't connect the Communicator to the test server? I'm not sure if it is related to the Communicator since this is requesting something from the Default Website (web browser : internet explorer). Enabling the CSISAppPool would hang the CSIS ping from the browser or would bring up the “500” message. I noticed the CSISAppPool was disabled in IIS manager and sometimes I would get the "503 - Service Unavailable" message. I'm suspecting there is something in the server end that isn't allowing the Communicator to connect to it.ĭo you think it could be from the server itself? I've been trying to CSIS ping the test server and it comes back with the error "500 - Internal Server Error".
SHORETEL COMMUNICATOR APP PC
He also tried putting the client PC I'm trying to have the Communicator connect to the server, to be in the same subnet, but that didn't work either. Turning off the firewall didn't do anything. The live server wasn't in the exception list so it couldn't be the proxy. Maybe there is for the live server, but not the test server.I had didn't have enough admin rights to view/change the IE proxy settings (it was greyed out) so I asked someone who had the rights to check and he added the server as an exception that didn't work. Is there an exception in the Internet Explorer proxy settings for your test server? If anyone can point me the right way of getting it to work, I immensely appreciate it. To confirm I can't connect to the "TestServer", I also tried on my desktop PC locally. This is the same for the other two virtual PCs. I can also ping the "TestServer" and also access the Director from the virtual PC. I don't think it's a firewall issue because the communicator can connect to the "LiveServer". There is something on the "TestServer" that isn't allowing the communicator to connect to it. I also tried connecting to an existing server that is actually being used within our Company lets name this server "LiveServer". New version of ShoreTel server can't connect | Tried again on the virtual PC with no success.įound a work-around online and that didn't work in my case: Went on the "TestServer" and disabled the firewalls (Windows and Symantec). I thought it was the firewall blocking the access so I disabled it. I get an error box that says: "Encountered error while attempting to connect to server." After installing the program, the initial start up asks to enter the server name I wish to connect to let call this server "TestServer".
